Please note that disbursements to third parties, such as cemetery fees, clergy and celebrant fees, flowers and newspaper notices are additional to our fees. A list of common disbursements may be found below. Please enquire for accurate quotes for any disbursements (including cemetery fees) not listed in this guide.

Personal Involvement

There are some aspects of the funeral service which family members may wish to be involved in, either assisting our staff, or taking care of themselves. William Barrett and Sons certainly encourage family members to assist in whatever way they feel is right for them. Personal contributions to the Funeral Service can be helpful in moving through the journey of grief. Please ask for further information on this if you wish.

Disclosures

All prices quoted by William Barrett and Sons are inclusive of GST, and all are for services provided within normal business hours, 8.30-5pm weekdays. For services provided outside normal business hours additional fees will be applicable, and are listed under ‘Additional Products and Services’.

We care for the deceased in our privately owned mortuary facilities located at 5 Zaknic Pl, East Bunbury and 105 Bussell Hwy, West Busselton. We conduct cremations at the Bunbury Crematorium managed by the Bunbury Cemetery Board, and at the Metropolitan Cemetery Board locations in the Perth region.

  • What is included?

    Professional Service Fee Packages
    Our Professional Service Fee packages incorporate the common types of funeral services that families often choose. These packages encompass:

    1. Professional Services (range from $1,500-$1,900): This includes paperwork and administration tasks such as consultation with the family, coordination, and clerical services, medical and cemetery paperwork and applications, liaising with third party suppliers and preparation and lodgement of the registration of death. It also covers a portion of costs for our overhead costs, ensuring compliance with legislation, industry best practice and safety requirements, ongoing staff training and development, and 24-hour availability.

    2. Mortuary and Transfer Services ($1,250): This involves the local transfer of the deceased into our care, as well as mortuary accommodation and basic preparation (washing, dressing, cosmetics, hair-styling and casketing) in our purpose-built mortuary care centres, which comply with the minimum standards of the Australian Funeral Directors Association. This service ensures dignified transfer, safe keeping and preparation of the deceased by qualified staff.

    3. Ceremony Fees (range from $450-$3,500): These fees cover the conduct of the funeral by professionally trained staff, including the organisation and facilitation of viewings, ceremonies, gatherings and burial/cremation. It also includes the use of our facilities, required equipment, and vehicles required for the funeral. The ceremony fee is based on the amount of staff, facilities, equipment and vehicles required; and the duration of the service.

    All of our fees also account for the essential overheads needed to provide high-quality, reliable service, staff, premises, vehicles and specialist equipment ensuring that we can meet your needs with professionalism and care and have team members available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
